Under the leadership of Managing Directors Ben Owenell and Don Robinson and Vice President Olivia Ruth Tomlin Dial, the Diversified Development Division was formed last year to pursue non-retail commercial opportunities in major markets primarily in the Southeast. The division concentrates on development pursuits within the multi-family, hotel, office and medical sectors seeking urban, infill sites as well as greenfield parcels ideal for mixed-use complexes.
Ben brings more than a decade of experience in property management, marketing and finance for multifamily and mixed-use developments, having served as sales and marketing manager for Birchwood Consolidated.
Don’s primary responsibility is the oversight of the Division’s growth and strategic initiatives. Prior to joining GBT in 2005, he garnered significant depth of knowledge in commercial, retail, and medical development and construction as President of a commercial general contracting firm, Corporate Vice President of Development for Service Merchandise, and Vice President of Construction for Target Stores.
Don has an MBA in Management and a BS in Civil Engineering. He brings over 40 years of experience in the design, development, and construction of commercial offices, warehouses, distribution centers, shopping centers, big boxes, community centers, restaurants, gas and convenience stores, tenant buildouts, medical buildings, and over 350 Net Lease, build to suit facilities located in 19 states.
